About Us
TDYHOMES was born from a simple idea: making military travel feel like coming home.
Our story began in 2005, when our founder, Hans, was stationed in Ramstein as a U.S. Air Force Reserve pilot. Assigned to a long-term TDY, he decided to renovate an apartment to create a reliable and comfortable place to stay. He soon discovered that others were also looking for spaces where they could live and work comfortably off-base. This inspired him to continue renovating homes throughout the KMC. Over time, those apartments and houses grew into what is now TDYHOMES.
In 2016, TDYHOMES added a hotel to its collection of over 65 apartments and houses, allowing us to welcome group TDY clients in addition to individual guests.
In 2024, TDYHOMES launched TDYHOMES PREMIUM FURNITURE, offering the same high-quality, solid wood furniture found in our properties.
We deeply appreciate the service and sacrifice of all our guests, who work tirelessly to make the world a safer and more secure place.

Here’s how we’re working toward a greener future:
- First of all, we all know it: Solar panels are one of the best sources of renewable energy.
- We are now implementing them on all our TLA / TLF longterm rent homes in the surrounding area of Ramstein Air Base and hope to rely only on ourselves in the future for energy.
- Our hotel uses rain water to recycle the water drain.
- We are switching our cars to hybrid or electric ones and hope to install electric chargers near all our TLAs.
- Our cleaning products are eco friendly and we mainly use silicon products to clean and use them longer.
